Journey across to one of Australia’s best known and well-loved holiday destinations; discovering that even after suffer summer fires the community of Kangaroo Island is still welcoming visitors. With most of the infrastructure spared, you’ll uncover wonderful produce unique to the Island while also finding that mother nature is just as resilient as the locals.
Day 1: We’re Off to Kangaroo Island
Travelling to the Fleurieu Peninsula then stopping at Victor Harbour for a lunch break before meeting the ferry to Cape Jervis. On arriving at Kangaroo Island, basing ourselves in Kingscote, now time to enjoy and indulge in mouth-watering produce, stunning views and meeting unique wildlife.
Day2: Kangaroo Island’s Raw Beauty
With the abundance of incredible wildlife, today is the day to get up close and personal as we travel to Seal Bay. Being taken into the heart of the colony, your experienced guide will teach all about the wonderful Australian Sea Lion. Then on to the Raptor Domain to be a part of the interactive and inspiring Birds of Prey demonstration. After enjoying lunch, time to spend the afternoon exploring Flinders Chase National Park and be amazed by how nature has bounced back with new lush growth contrasted against the charcoal remanets of the summer fires.
Day 3: Nature’s Gift
Time to discover the fine produce of the Island beginning with Clifford’s Honey farm and their delicious honey ice-cream. Then on to the inspiring surrounds of Dudley Wines, sampling wines and enjoying a bite to eat whilst enjoying spectacular views across Backstairs Passage to mainland Australia. On the return, time to stop by Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery where a tour will be conducted with the plant and equipment used in the producing of eucalyptus products. The last visit being Emu Bay Lavender farm with the opportunity to purchase goods to take home.
Day 4: Homeward Bound
After backing bags and thanking hosts, time to make our way beck to Penneshaw in time to connect with the mid-morning ferry to Cape Jervis. After travelling to the small seaside village or Normanville for a light lunch, we then journey back to the Riverland.
